Technical Background: Pit Lanes and Circuit Safety

A modern racing circuit is much more than the track on which cars compete. Pit lanes, team garages, safety barriers, access gates and technical facilities form an essential part of the racing environment. They allow teams to prepare their cars, coordinate servicing and move equipment while helping separate active racing areas from working and restricted zones.

Safety fencing is an important feature of many circuits. Its design helps define the boundaries of trackside areas and supports the protection of spectators, officials and personnel. Depending on the location, fences may be combined with barriers, access gates and other structures intended to manage movement around the circuit. Lighting and signalling equipment also help personnel identify conditions and coordinate activities during events.

The pit lane has a particularly demanding role during a race weekend. Teams use it to access their garages, prepare cars and carry out scheduled servicing. Operations must be coordinated carefully because several teams may be working in close proximity while drivers enter and leave the track. Clear access routes, organised work areas and well-defined boundaries are therefore essential.

The 12GO Racing Pit Lane captures these elements in a compact building set. Its fencing, structural framework, lighting feature, trackside markings and included race car recreate the atmosphere of a professional racing venue. The result is a display piece that celebrates not only the cars themselves, but also the infrastructure and teamwork that make modern motorsport possible.
