About STRV 103B set
STRV 103B packs 1,773 compatible bricks into Sweden's iconic turretless main battle tank for ages 14+—a low, wedge-shaped hull with a fixed 105 mm gun, autoloader bustle, and twin-engine layout that reads unlike any conventional MBT on the shelf. Eco-friendly ABS keeps glacis plates and road-wheel runs aligned for display photography without glue. Pair beside Leopard, T-72, or Abrams sets to show how Cold War designers solved the same problem with radically different geometry. A must for collectors who want Nordic armour beside the usual German and Soviet rows.
Historical background
The Stridsvagn 103 entered Swedish service in the late 1960s as a defensive MBT built around a fixed gun, autoloader, and exceptional hull-down profile. The 103B upgrade refined fire-control and survivability while keeping the turretless concept. Crews trained to reverse at speed and fight from prepared positions — doctrine as distinctive as the silhouette. Brick builders gain a Cold War oddity that explains why Sweden's armour path diverged from NATO turret tanks.
