About this set
The Waffenträger auf E-100 set brings one of Germany’s most ambitious late-war paper projects to your shelf in 1:28 scale. With 2,036 precision-moulded, compatible ABS bricks, you assemble a long casemate hull, running gear, and a heavy weapon mount that reads unmistakably as a super-heavy carrier rather than a conventional turret tank. Panel lines, tool stowage, and road-wheel spacing reward careful sorting during the build. Finished, it becomes a commanding centrepiece for any Wehrmacht display—ideal for collectors who want rare prototypes rendered as display-grade brick models rather than mass-market silhouettes.
Historical background
Late in 1944, German engineers explored mounting very heavy artillery on the unfinished E-100 hull to create a mobile firing platform—the Waffenträger concept. Competing with the Maus programme, the E-100 chassis promised exceptional load capacity but arrived too late for serial production. Allied advances and bombing disrupted assembly plants; only fragments of the programme survived the war. Today the design survives chiefly in blueprints and museum speculation, which makes brick interpretations especially appealing: they let builders study a weapon system that existed more as engineering ambition than as a front-line battalion.
